Are there any reiners on this site yet?

Yes, now I'm on here. I am just getting started with reining, taking some lessons when I can find someone with a lesson horse. Since I'm switching from other disciplines, I haven't even bought the horse & tack yet.

Live in Lexington, KY, wish I lived in AZ where there are more reining barns.

When you find a lesson place in Lexington, will you let me know? I've always thought reining was fun, and maybe somebody might want to do the lesson thing. Good luck with everything.

I have a "pony" out of cutting and reining bred lines that I have done reining training with, but have never shown him in on a pattern.  He's got a good slide, rollback, and changes...but we're rather sticky on the spins!

I've ridden a few finished reiners and almost considered forsaking the hunter/jumper world completely to pursue a reining career after riding them!! It's a blast!

I know reining is a Western event, but what exactly do you do?  It's actually kind of sad that I don't know this because I live in Texas, where a lot of people do reining.

I'm looking to start reining soon. Been doing dressage for a few years and want to do reining, it looks awesome. Currently looking for a reining prospect actually, haha. Going to look at some horses today. Anyone going to the WEG Reining event at the Ky Horse Park in July? I am!

The ranch where I ride has quite a few reining/roping horses. They're having competitions there to get ready for the Salinas, Ca. rodeo in 2 wks. I'm excited to watch them getting prepared, I love reining events. Next week we're watching team penning!!

I've started working with young paint with hopes of showing him in reining eventually.  He has his spins and rollbacks down, but we're still working on the stops and neck reining.

we are here in tx run a reining cow/cutting barn. for those who don't know reining cow horses do a reining pattern, then do herd work of holding a cow, and then do a boxing technique with the cow and then take it down the fence. The down the fence part is pretty exciting. we are headed to a big show here in tx in a couple of weeks.

Does anyone know anything about Penni Gerardi or Tom Foran?  I'm thinking about having one of them train my young horse to rein but I don't know much about either one.
