Co-owner/co-operator with husband, Pat, in Trowbridge's Ltd., a full service breeding and training facility located on their farm in Bridgewater, Ct. Established in 1991. A professional horse trainer since 1978, beginning work for Sir William Farm, owned by Leon Rubin and managed by Bill Bohl, for eight years before managing Cricket Hill Arabians for five years prior to opening their own business.
Three time winner of the Arabian Professional Horsewoman of the Year award, and three time winner of the Arabian female Saddleseat Trainer of the Year award. Nominated for at least two awards every year since the inception of the awards in 1991.
Produced over fifty National Championships and Reserves in both open and amateur competition, including 1991 and 1993 National Champion Park Horse awards in both Canada and the United States for Red Tape+++/, at the time only the second woman to have one the Park Horse championship in the U.S. Over the last seven years, two thirds of the National winners presented by Trowbridge's Ltd. were products of breeding programs managed for customers by Pat and Mary Trowbridge.
In 2005, Pat and Mary purchased the historic Nichols Arabians property, home to National Champions Barbary+++, *Elkin and *Elkana during the '70's and '80's.
Immediate past president of the Arabian Professional and Amateur Horsemen's Association, and current president of The Horsemen's Distress Fund, a crisis fund for Arabian horsemen in need.
A Level I and Large R Arabian judge since 1989, and have judged horse shows across the United States and Canada, as well as in Europe, including the Youth National Championship Horse Show, the Canadian National Championship Horse Show, The Scottsdale All Arabian Horse Show and the Australian National Championship Horse Show, along with countless Regional and Class A shows each year.
