About Me
Horses have always been a part of Achie Cox's life. He competed on the national level as a junior rider on the East Coast. In 1985, he was the first male rider in 10 years to win the United States Equestrian Team Gold Medal. Archie also won medals at the American Horse Shows Association (AHSA) and ASPCA Maclay Finals. While at Drew University, he competed on the equestrian team, winning individual and team regional and national Intercollegiate Horse Show Association titles.
In 1992, Archie moved to California to work with trainer Karen Healey. In December 2000, he opened his own business, Brookway Stables—named after his grandparents’ farm in Maine—at Middle Ranch in Lakeview Terrace. He usually has 30-35 horses in training and 12-15 clients. His clients consist of anything from pony riders to older amateurs. His horses have won championships at such top shows as the Devon Horse Show, Harrisburg, Washington International Horse Show, the Metropolitan National Horse Show and the National Horse Show in Florida.
Archie serves on the board of directors of the United States Hunter Jumper Association, American Hunter Jumper Foundation, and Pacific Coast Horse Show Association, and is also an 'R' judge in hunter and hunter seat equitation.
